This space is not an end in itself, rather it is the basis for communication with interested viewers. Only then can art succeed in touching people, bringing them together and triggering new thoughts and impulses when engaging with an art work.
The private collectors Volker M. Kroll and Ralf-D Müller were guided by this intention. With the KM_16 and the KM_159, created art spaces at two locations in Düsseldorf for their contemporary collection, which they have put together over the past 25 years. In addition to a permanent exhibition in KM_16, selected works from their collection are shown in changing presentations in KM_159.
In both places, dialogue with art should be promoted in order to encourage the expansion of consciousness, self-reflection and exchange among one another.
In addition, artists who are represented with works in the collection also have the opportunity to present their works in solo exhibitions at KM_159.

Lore Bert
We would like to introduce you to this extraordinary artist and give you an insight into her artistic work. Her work is characterized by the material paper, with which she has created a large number of collages, picture objects, transparencies, sculptures and, in addition, installations since the early 1980s, which extend to entire paper rooms and environments.
„Construction and Poetry“ by Lore Bert
Artroom KM_159 und Goethe-Museum Düsseldorf (GMD)
The exhibition “Construction and Poetry” is characteristic of Lore Bert’s oeuvre. In her formal language with geometric bodies, ornaments, numbers and letters, she creates a universe that is not spatial or cultural and continually builds bridges to philosophical and poetic writings. How Lore Bert interprets works from the “West-Eastern Divan” by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and his work “On Color Theory” is shown in an extension of this exhibition in the Goethe-Museum Düsseldorf.
The exhibition was made possible through the support and close collaboration with the Galerie Dr. Dorothea van der
Koelen CADORO Mainz / Venice in cooperation with the Goethe-Museum Düsseldorf.
